DOPPEL
A transparent, mono-compatible doubler for heavy & prog guitar.
Turn one DI take into a wide, convincing double that sounds like a genuinely separate performance — none of the phasing, comb-filtering, or metallic shimmer that give ordinary doublers away, and no mono collapse.
Windows VST3 & Standalone · macOS on the way · free demo, mute-limited until activated
Hear it — and switch mid-riff
Same performance, level-matched. Flip between Doppel, an ordinary doubler, a genuinely performed second take, and the bypassed single — instantly, without losing your place. Doppel sits right on the real double take; the traditional doubler stays narrower, with the phasey, processed edge Doppel avoids.
A/B demo · switching keeps your place
One DI take, doubled by Doppel — it opens up as wide as a real second take. Watch the goniometer spread and the ρ readout.
All versions level-matched
Mono-safe by design
The headline difference. Ordinary doublers spread everything wide and fall apart when summed to mono. Doppel keeps the low end centered and tight while only the highs decorrelate — and a built-in goniometer and phase meter show you it's safe.
- Low end stays mono & punchy; the width lives up top
- Live goniometer + phase-correlation meter — mono safety at a glance
- Tunable crossover: dial exactly where width begins
Drag the slider and watch an ordinary doubler's stereo field collapse toward anti-phase. Doppel's lows never leave the mono axis.
Chaotic decorrelation — lows held coherent, width generated up top. Folds to mono clean.
What's inside
Chaotic phase decorrelation — not static delay or micro-pitch, so there's no comb-filtering or metallic shimmer to give it away.
Chaotic phaser engine
Cross-coupled, envelope-modulated decorrelation that moves like a real second take, not a static effect — and a Re-roll button for a fresh take any time.
Double or Quad-Track
One decorrelated copy per side, or flip to Quad to stack two differently-seeded takes per side — the classic quad-tracked wall, from a single DI.
Oversampled drive
Optional 2× / 4× oversampling on the saturation — tames the aliasing that grates on bright high-gain, so the top end stays smooth. Off by default; flip it on where it counts.
Drift + Character
Tape wow & flutter you can humanize with the Drift knob, three Character voicings (Modern / Vintage / Wide), and a phase-distortion drive for bite.
Live goniometer + phase meter
See the stereo field as you play — a tall, narrow shape means it's mono-safe. Plus the running phase-correlation meter, always honest.
Hands-on + presets
Mix, Width, Drift, Drive, Presence, Pick, Low, Mono-Below, Output, Character, Voices — with A/B compare, a resizable window, and factory + your own saved presets.
Stereo or Single-Take
Run a full stereo double, or Single-Take mode to generate one alternate take per track — reamp or process each independently.
VST3 & Standalone
Works in any modern DAW on Windows. AU/VST3 for macOS on the way.
Offline after activation
Activate once online, then it runs fully offline — no phone-home, no nonsense.
